Hi @ktrg2024,
Thanks for the clear examples. This is a known bug in Permalink Manager, not something specific to your site. When a URL ends in a product’s slug, the plugin loads that product without checking that the categories before it match. So /rto-materials/bsb-training-package/cpc20720/ shows the same product as /rto-materials/cpc-training-package/cpc20720/.
We’re working on a fix. Once it’s in, those wrong-category URLs will return a 404 (or a 301 to the correct URL if you use redirects). We’ll announce it in the plugin’s changelog when it ships.
In the meantime:
- If you have the Pro version, go to Permalink Manager settings and switch on Create redirects. Any wrong-category URL will then 301 to the product’s correct URL.
- On the free version, your product pages should still output a canonical tag pointing to the correct URL, so search engines treat the other versions as duplicates of the real one rather than separate pages.
You don’t need to open a ticket for this one. I’ll mark this thread resolved, but feel free to reply here if anything else comes up.
