• The Jetpack plugin has disappeared from my WordPress admin and I am not able to install Jetpack, because it says: Installation failed, file already exists. However, I cannot find Jetpack in my plugins anywhere. Jetpack debug is not working (I get an error message) and when I log into Jetpack it says it can’t connect to my website. I found out when I realized I had lost the Facebook share button on the single post page. Can someone tell me how what may have happened and how to fix this?

    Thank you!

    Hi @feudette –

This sounds like a frustrating issue! We’re happy to work with you to get Jetpack connected and your sharing buttons active again

As a next step here, I’d recommend logging in to your server via FTP or SSH to see if the wp-content/plugins/jetpack folder is still there. If it is, you can delete it (all settings are stored on our servers) and then reinstall Jetpack via WP Admin.

If you don’t have FTP or SSH access (or if you aren’t comfortable with it), you’ll want to reach out to your hosting provider. They should be able to help you remove the existing files so that you can reinstall.

Let us know how it goes.
