I am developing a new site and one of the things we have done is incorporated the thermometer on different pages. However, different pages might have different background. Example one page has a dark blue background #011022, while another page has a light background #FBF3E9.

I have tried to inject raisedcolor=#6F8F57 into the shortcode, but it is defaulting to the Donation Thermometer settings color. Is there a way to override the default settings with a shortcode override for any of the colors?

Hi, I can’t seem to reproduce the problem with the shortcode parameter like you mention. This shortcode below will change just the colour of the raised value number over what is saved as the default on the settings page:

    [thermometer raisedcolor=#3858e9]

If you want to change the thermometer fill colour then use fill=#3858e9 etc. Further colour parameters for other elements can be found on the help tab on the plugin settings page.

If you share the shortcode you are trying then perhaps I can troubleshoot further. Are you also on the latest version?

Thank you! This was very helpful and confirmed that the shortcode override works as expected.

I tracked down the issue on my end. I’m using a custom wrapper shortcode around [thermometer], and the wrapper was not passing the optional color parameters through to the underlying Thermometer shortcode.

I’ve updated the wrapper to pass through the supported color attributes, and raisedcolor is now working perfectly on a per-thermometer basis while preserving the global defaults.

So this was not an issue with the Donation Thermometer plugin. Everything is working as intended.

Thanks again for the quick response and for maintaining the plugin!
