• Hi, when I want to display a map on a Geo-My-WP-enabled page, recently the map has started not working and showing:

Google Maps Platform rejected your request. This IP, site or mobile application is not authorized to use this API key. Request received from IP address [my IP6 IP address], with empty referer

The website has a Google Maps Browser ( client-side ) API key restricted to the website URL and a Google Maps Server API key restricted to 192.168.0.1. All APIs listed on https://docs.geomywp.com/article/141-generate-and-setup-google-maps-api-keys are enabled for both. Can you see what might be going wrong please?

    Hi @pixelshrink

If the map itself is not displaying on the front end, the issue would generally be related to the Browser API key rather than the Server API key. The Server API key is used for server-side geocoding and does not load the front-end map.

Could you clarify where you saw the quoted error? Was it reported by GEO my WP’s Server API Key Test or shown in the browser console?

If the map is failing on the front end, please check the browser console for a Google Maps JavaScript error. If you’re unsure how to do that and can share a link to the live page containing the map, I’ll be happy to take a look.

If the quoted error came from the Server API Key Test, you need to add the IP address shown in the error message to the allowed IP addresses in the Server API key restrictions. After saving the changes, run the API key test again.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks. It’s showing in the front end, on a map embedded in a WP Event Manager event using your integration.

The error is Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 () – for a map like https://www.google.com/maps/embed/v1/place?maptype=roadmap&zoom=15&key=AIzaSyBebWOYG0G7QwCYiVVt-5nvZZA6Lfu9fhQ&q=Friends+Meeting+House%2C+43+St.+Giles%2C+Oxford%2C+OX1+3LW

I can share the page privately if there’s a way to do that.
