Personal Access API

Hi,
I got a personal access API key and it’s not working. Does it need to be commercial?
I have version 3.1.
I don’t really understand the instructions: Use the new format: keystring:secret.
I typed in keystring:(my secret code) and that didn’t work. I tried it without the word keystring: and that didn’t work. Then I tried just the API key and that didn’t work.
It is not pending.
Any help would be appreciated.
