Hi, we are trying to migrate our wordpress server up into the cloud on Azure and have ran into a few hiccups. Initially, we received a message saying “Could not reach the destination server”. We made a few tweaks on the firewall, and tried to migrate again, now we have a new issue: “Error! The destination database could not be validated. Please check the destination WordPress and retry.”

So it seems like MigrateGuru is able to hit the server now, but it’s running into issues interacting with the database. I’ve validated and check the wp-config.php file on the server directly and can confirm our database is defined correctly and the there doesn’t seem to be a mismatch on the credentials. Not sure where the issue is stemming from.

    Looking for assistance here.

    Hi,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please temporarily disable the firewall on the destination server and ensure that you’ve selected the correct destination folder where the WordPress installation is present? Once you’ve confirmed this, please retry the migration.

If you continue to experience the issue, please write to us at support[@]migrateguru[.]com with your source and destination site details, and we’ll be happy to investigate this further.
