Migrate Guru: Migrate & Clone WordPress Free

Description

Migrate Guru is the fastest way to migrate WordPress sites. It simplifies difficult WordPress migrations (e.g. multi-site networks, 200 GB sites, etc.).

Powered by BlogVault (an onboarding partner of top WordPress hosts in the world), Migrate Guru uses intelligent processes on its own servers… So there is ZERO risk to your sites. It automatically rewrites URLs, bypasses import-export scripts, and handles serialised data. It also can clone WordPress sites without any manual work, add-ons, or additional tools.

FAQ

What do I need to use MG?

You’ll need:
* An account on the new web hosting service
* A domain on the new host, with WordPress installed
* The destination’s FTP/cPanel details

How long does MG take to move a site?

MG can move a 1 GB (files & database) site in <30 Mins*
(*Approximate & depends on a number of factors).

Are there any limitations on the number of migrations?

Yes. We’ve enforced a limit of 5 site migrations/user/month (developers can request to have this limit extended). This cap ensures that our servers aren’t overburdened. Each of the 5 sites can be moved unlimited times.

Does MG backup my site?

No.

Do I need to have WordPress installed in the destination?

Yes.

Do I need to have MG installed in the destination to transfer my site?

No. It’s only needed on the source site.

Why do you need FTP/cPanel details?

MG needs these details since FTP/cPanel is the safest way to move your site.

How do I move a multi-site network?

When installed on a WordPress multi-site network, the plugin automatically becomes ‘network activated’. Once this is done you can go by the same steps as a single site.

Do you have a help guide/documentation?

Yes, we do. You can access it here: https://migrateguru.freshdesk.com/support/home

I live in a rural area and my connection is very slow... I have a problem migrating larger sites... I am using 2 plugins, and I relied on them for years... but my slow connection won't just make it... But with Migrate Guru, everything was EASY and FAST, and it requires no technical knowledge... Thank you so much... I can't thank you enough!

Have tried once so far but impressed, simple and works well. Refreshing given another well known migration plugin's recent deterioration, plus no size limit. Will use again.

Honest review. I made a WordPress account so I could leave this review btw. I've used a different plugin for site migrations before and I was happy with it. There are a lot of steps with that one, takes me a little while, but easy to follow with the documentation. Today I was trying for (several!) hours to copy a site from a Flywheel-hosted site to a Namecheap hosting account, with the other tool. Not sure what the problem was. The dreaded 'Sorry, you don't have access to that page" error (could not log in), and other issues. The migrated site didn't look like the original site. Updated my Php version etc. no help. Again the documentation for that plugin is good but man at some point after hours and hours... I googled 'site migration from Flywheel hosting' as I assumed that was the issue. Found Migrate Guru. I was skeptical... I didn't time it, but is was probably less than 20 minutes, almost all of that time was the site files copying over, about 400 MB. Everything works. I can log in. I'm stunned. You'd better believe I'm going straight to Migrate Guru as tool #1 for tasks like this in the future. Thanks very, very much.

My site move went well with Migration Guru and I strongly recommend it to others. One area of improvement I encountered: because I am not a Web professional, I needed to do some online research to figure out how to find the right info to enter into the Migration Guru form. For example, the IP address of my Destination FTP Server. I think the Guru would be much improved by having links to how-to sources related to the form entries. This is my one-item wish list, definitely *not* a complaint! / Robby Barnes
