Fatal error after AA 2.0.23 + Pro Cache busting

    After AA 2.0.23 update I get a fatal error on all sites. It appears to be related to Cache busting on AA pro. Disabling cache busting fixes the issue.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reporting this.

    We are actively working on fixing this issue. Until an updated version is released, we recommend temporarily rolling back to the previous stable version, 2.0.22.

    You can do this from your WordPress dashboard by going to: Advanced Ads > Tools > Version Control

    Then select version 2.0.22 and apply the rollback.

    I don’t think this is needed in this case, but If you no longer have access to your WordPress dashboard because of a fatal error, you can temporarily deactivate Advanced Ads and its add-ons via FTP, SFTP, or your hosting file manager.

    To do this, go to wp-content/plugins/ then rename the Advanced Ads plugin folders, for example by adding “-disabled” to the folder name. This will deactivate the plugins and should allow you to access the dashboard again. Please ensure to rename the folders back after you are able to access the admin area.

    After that, please keep the Pro add-on disabled and activate only the Advanced Ads core plugin. Then roll back the core plugin to version 2.0.22 as explained above. Once the rollback is complete, you can reactivate the Pro add-on.

    We appreciate your patience and will share an update as soon as the fix is available.

    Thanks. Both options produce a stable site for me:

    • Rollback AA to 2.0.22 or
    • Disable Cache busting in Pro settings (while staying on 2.0.23)
