I’m having the same problem as in this discussion. https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-connecting-6/

This solution is offered in that discussion, but I’m sorry, I don’t know what to do with that (Please check that cURL and allow_url_fopen are enabled in php.ini.)
I don’t have an option to Sync to the Cloud, because the plugin is trying to sync to the cloud, but never completes. There’s only the “spinning” icon.

I have this error message in my dashboard:
Access key is not valid, update the plugin settings. Anti-Spam by CleanTalk.
But my access key is correct. And my subscription is up to date.

And this notification in CleanTalk settings:
Jun 21 2026 16:00:53: Error occurred while checking account status. cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10001 milliseconds with 0 out of 0 bytes received

This error message wasn’t there a couple days ago when I was working on the site.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

    Thank you for your request.

I see that requests have begun to arrive, perhaps everything has improved for you, It’s possible that something has changed on your server side. One of these actions may help you:

    • Clear your site’s cache (including cache plugins)
    • Check whether cURL support is enabled in php.ini on your web server. Go to the “Summary & Support” section in the plugin settings and look at the status of the cURL support check. If you see a red cross, please contact your hosting provider.
    • Check if our IPs are available from your webserver: https://cleantalk.org/help/cleantalk-servers-ip-addresses (points 1-3).
    • WordPress Admin Page – Settings – Anti-Spam by CleanTalk – Advanced settings – change the “Use WordPress HTTP API” option – Save Changes.
After each action click “Synchrinize with Cloud” in the plugin settings, wait until the rotating icon disappears and refresh the page.
    • Is there a result?
