I wanted to clear up one factual point first, because it is important: the plugin is not connected to your payment details. It is connected to a free allowance of 20 000 AI tokens per month that we provide at no cost. Nothing is billed to you through this plugin.
On how it came to be on your site: the plugin was enabled in the context of the WordPress 7.0 rollout, which introduced a native AI surface in core. SiteGround customers were notified by email in advance that the SiteGround AI Studio connector will be pre-configured with the free token allowance so you could use the new WordPress capability without an extra setup or cost.
Of course, as you pointed out yourself, if you do not wish to use it, you can deactivate and remove it at any time.
