Problems with special characters

I am using include-me to embed some javascript that pulls from docs.google.com/spreadsheets and filters the contents. So, basically an HTML fragment. I’ve put include-me in iframe mode, of that makes any difference.

My issue is that any accented characters, such as an ellipsis in a filter dropdown prompt or paragraphs in various languages, are not coming through correctly.

I feel like I must be missing something obvious like declaring encoding, or changing the BOM on the HTML file that is the src for this include-me. But I can’t figure it out.

Has anybody else encountered this?
