    I have just started using Sportpress for our netball league, it was set up by someone else and I am wondering whether there’s a more efficient way it could be used, with less manual input.

    Currently, it auto-calculates points for win, draw and the goals. But we have to manually tell it what sort of loss there was in a game.

    Our rules are:
    Win = 5 Points
    Draw = 3 Points
    Loss within 5 Goals = 2 Points
    Loss within half of the winning teams score = 1 Point
    Loss below half of the winning teams score = 0 Points

    Is there a way I can auto-calculate the loss points based off the results?

    We also have point deductions for if a team doesn’t submit their scorecard in time. I could just put these in as adjustments on the league table, or have another column for deductions and then total points?

    Currently points deductions are put into the event result instead of their win or loss, which means the total wins, losses etc are not correct! So I want to change this?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there @ferntw ,

    SportsPress does not support fully automatic conditional point calculations based on score margins (like “loss within 5 goals”) out of the box. The recommended workaround is to create multiple distinct Event Outcomes under SportsPress > Configure like “Loss (Close)”, “Loss (Half)”, and “Loss (Heavy)” and assign different point values to each in your points formula. You would still need to manually select the correct loss type when entering each event result, but at least your Wins and Draws can remain fully automatic, and the point totals will calculate correctly from there.

    Regarding point deductions, the cleanest approach is to use the Adjustments feature built into League Tables. Go to your League Table, click the “Adjustments” link at the top of the table section, and enter a negative value (e.g., -2) next to the team that missed their scorecard submission. This keeps the deduction separate from the actual match result, so your win/draw/loss counts remain accurate. If you would like a visible “Deductions” column in the table, you can add a dedicated table column under SportsPress > Configure > League Table Columns and include it in your points equation as a separate variable.

    Thanks,
    Savvas
