Just logged into site 1 and it says that version 15.5 beta is available. I disabled automatic updates on that site.

Logged into site 2 and the beta update applied before I could disable automatic updates.

I did NOT sign up for the beta program! This link seems to say it’s Opt-IN: https://jetpack.com/resources/new-beta-testing-jetpack/

    How do we Opt-OUT?

  • 15.5 beta available for all?

I think there is a problem with the Jetpack Updates in WordPress.org.

    Hi there, @arcarcane2012,

Thanks for flagging this, and sorry for the confusion it’s caused. This wasn’t expected, and our developers are aware of the issue. A beta version was released by mistake, and the team is now working on getting the correct stable version out.

We appreciate your patience, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience along the way. In the meantime, you can safely keep using version 15.4. Thanks!

In the meantime, I now have 2 (out of 3) sites that were “upgraded” that may result in viewers seeing beta bugs.

What sort of timeline are we looking at for a fix – i.e. should I be looking to downgrade those betas?

What sort of protections are there going to be to stop this from happening again? I’m frankly stunned that beta and stable channels should be so easily mixed and matched.

    Hey @arcarcane2012,

Me again! This should have been resolved now. Let us know if you still see the beta instead of the stable release!

No, this didn’t work. Both sites that are on the beta channel offered the updates, I applied them, the sites both said that they were updated successfully but a refresh of the plugins page showed the current version as 15.5-beta still and offered the update.

I will look further into any responses tomorrow. I should have been asleep hours ago, not troubleshooting the sites.

Updating to say that on one site this afternoon, I removed and reinstalled the plugin as it just didn’t want to update. On the other site, I managed to get it to update through the plugins screen.

    Hi @arcarcane2012,

Glad to hear you were able to update to the correct versions!

Sorry for the trouble this caused, and thanks for reaching out to get it sorted.

If anything else comes up, feel free to open a new thread and we’ll be happy to help.

I’m still locked into the beta version. I even deleted and reinstalled with the same result.

Hello @skribe. Sebastian here, I hope you are doing well.

Could you please start your own thread, as asked in our Forum Welcome guidelines?
    Use the following link: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack#new-post

On that new message, please share the URL of your site.

Regarding the beta version, you should be able to deactivate the beta version and use the Jetpack stable installation, if you encountered issues, please share those details in the new thread.

    Thanks!
