    Hi,

What’s going on with the Mega Menu as of now?

The Nav block works, but in terms of adding full width megamenu items it gets a bit confusing.

There’s no Mega Menu item in the Template Library anymore, then I read this article: https://theme.greenshiftwp.com/how-to-make-mega-menu-in-blockpress-and-greenshift-plugin/

But I don’t see any options that it is referring to within the Greenshift plugin.

This video shows at about 0:06 a full width sub Mega Menu in use with what looks like other blocks within a flexblock row maybe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq5iXVYCIFk

Currently, if I put say a logo block, then nav block then a account login block for example, in a full width row, with the three primary items “equally spaced” the mega menu will not display full width, instead it confines itself to a much smaller area relative to it’s parent menu item it seems.

I’m sure I’ve done this before with Greenshift, but its possible that was as a single row item with no other blocks alongside it like a logo, so a logo block would have to be on a row above that if that makes sense.

In any case, as mentioned there are no Mega Menu example template library items, is this block not supported now?

    Thanks,
    David

You are pointing me to tutorial of Greenshift theme, it has nothing related to GS plugin. For plugin we have special block and tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsZkg_cHroY&pp=2AYH0gcJCXwKAYcqIYzv

Thanks @illiagreen, I see I was referring to the theme with the link, sorry.

But yes your video goes over some nice features, which I have found mostly myself through using the block. But as one of the YouTube commenters has asked you on there, to make a “full width” mega menu seems to be limited to the menu container, as you also mention in the video.

The YouTube comment references the Apple menu for example, and this is similar to what I am trying to achieve.

If the Greenshift Navigation element is within a Gutenberg row, with a block for a logo like on the Apple site:

Logo block // GreenShift Navigation Element. // Cart, login, search etc

Then the megamenu controlled by the Greenshift block there will only fill to the width of the Greenshift block, not the width of the whole page as per the Apple site or other examples.

Whereas If we use the Navigation element block entirely on its own without a logo in horizontal layout, the mega menu full width displays the entire width of the screen. Hopefully I am explaining that ok?

Am I and the Youtube commenter missing something, or is this just not possible as yet? Again, apple’s website menu shows it visually as an example too.

    Many thanks,

    David

Full width in core navigation is not possible and limited by container, so you must put it on separate line.

But in Greenshift Navigation element – it’s possible, make sure that your parent block doesn’t have position as relative
