• We have built our entire website using WordPress, with Elementor and the Onum theme. My WordPress version, theme, and plugins are all up to date.

Recently, we wanted to add a new feature, so I created a new page and attempted to design it. However, when I tried to open the page in Elementor, it failed to load properly. I tried multiple troubleshooting steps but couldn’t resolve the issue.

Here’s what I have already tried:
Deactivating all plugins and checking Elementor—still not working.
Updating the Onum theme to the latest version—issue persists.
✔ When accessing a published page, I encountered a “Critical Error” message on the website.
✔ I attempted various fixes but was unsuccessful.

Has anyone faced a similar issue or knows how to resolve this? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you in advance.

  • ✔ Deactivating all plugins and checking Elementor—still not working.

Do this again, but with Elementor’s own Hello Elementor theme or one of WordPress’ default themes…. so we can know if it’s the Onum theme causing this.

A “critical error” should be logged on your server.

Check your server’s error logs or enable WordPress debugging and trigger this error again.

This should give you an indication of what’s causing this error so you can zoom in on that specific culprit and address it.

Otherwise, you’ll need to cast a wide net by disabling all your plugins and switching to the latest default theme (Or Elementor’s own Hello Elementor theme). Then re-enable them one by one, testing each time, until the problem returns. Then you’d know the culprit.

@gappiah Thank you for your response.

We considered removing the Onum theme, but since this is our company website, changing the theme would completely alter the look and feel, which could cause significant issues. We’re looking for a solution that allows us to fix the problem without disrupting the existing design.

We considered removing the Onum theme,

You want to first confirm that it’s indeed the theme causing the problem.

And you can do that by raising either of the two methods I outlined above.

Checking the server’s error logs or enabling WordPress debugging correctly (log to a file rather than on-screen) should be completely passive and should NOT leave any evidence of such troubleshooting on the frontend.

For disabling all plugins and switching themes and re-enabling them one by one, you may use the Health Check and Troubleshooting plugin to do this just for your user session without affecting the public site: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/

You can’t fix the problem if you don’t know what’s causing it.
