    Hello!

I’m trying to import donations from a website to a clone of the same website. I use the Export function from WP Give tools in the old site, then use the Import function in the tools of the clone. But a few seconds later I receive an “Unknown Error” message. We are talking about 300-400 donations, i.e. it’s not much data. Boths sites run on the same VPS server.

Any ideas how can I debug the problem and import the donations?

    Hi @peteto2006 ,

I’m glad you reached out. I can certainly help you.

Moreover, please excuse the slow turnaround here.

Before we go ahead, I would like to tell you a piece of important information: unless the CSV is impeccable, GiveWP won’t import it.

I encourage you to export a sample file you can find under donations → tools → import → import donations and then fill the CSV with the information you need, and only after that, you export this new CSV file and import it to GiveWP:

When GiveWP tries to import those donations, it also verifies the kind of data that you are passing. So make sure everything is tidy and ordered properly.

Lastly, do not import anything that has an ID — form ID, user ID, any information related to an ID.

Feel free to reach out to us if you have any further inquiries or require additional assistance.

    We’re always happy to help!

    Hi, @peteto2006.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard back, and I know troubleshooting needs a little extra time. I’m marking this as resolved for now, but if you still have questions, you can send them along right here, and I’ll be happy to hop back in.

    Have a great day!

    Hi!

Thanks for your help. The problem was in the IDs.
