Previously, Breadcrumb NavXT did not support having a trail to the root site. With 3.7.0 it is possible, but you must set the appropriate “Main Site” options in the Breadcrumb NavXT settings page. If you were previously using the SVN Trunk version of Breadcrumb NavXT, your settings relating to multi site functionality would be written over on the migration to 3.7.0. Users of 3.6.0, or any tagged release should not see a loss of setting values.
For the various categories tabs, under your Posts & Pages tab, and under the setting “Post Taxonomy” are there multiple instances of categories there as well?
I already rolled back to 3.6. I will upgrade in a development instance and check into these settings.
Let me know what you find, it’s difficult to fix something that I can’t reproduce 🙂
Will do.
You explained the unexpected appearance of a root-relative breadcrumb on my numerous home pages.
The multiple category tags may have been related to post types I tested months back; they may still exist in the database. I will check.
The fact that they had the same label in the tabs, “Categories,” led me astray. It did not occur to me that they would refer to other custom taxonomies or post types.
That is a valid point about tabs that have the same name but are taxonomies or post types. In the backend of Breadcrumb NavXT this is taken care of pretty nicely, I guess I need some visual indicator that a tab is for a post type or a taxonomy.
