Change user role on email activation?

    Is there a way for user roles to automatically change from the default “pending” to a custom role “subscriber” once they have confirmed their email address? We have some specific pages that I’d like to hide until someone has verified their account.

    Hi @lawrawrrr,

    While the user didn’t confirm their email address, that user does not have an active user account on your site (nor do they have a user role at this moment). Meaning that they can’t log in to your site until they confirm their email address. Once the user confirms their email, then they can log in to the site with their credentials, and since now they are an active account, they indeed have a user role, which by default is the Default Role of your site (Dashboard -> Settings -> General -> New User Default Role).
