It appears that we are using Solid Security Pro version 8.1.0 and encountering an issue. When attempting to reset the password from the Paid Memberships Pro (PMPro) login page, we receive the reset email with a link. However, upon clicking the link, we consistently encounter the error message “Your reset password key is invalid.” Disabling the plugin resolves the issue, and everything works fine. The problem arises when using PHP version 8 and PMPro version 2.12.4. You are seeking a solution to this problem.

Hi @rm19, thanks for reaching out. We’re happy to help!

There seems to be a conflict with how the PMPro handles the password reset method. Do you have the Solid Security Hide Backend feature enabled? If so, does the error persist when you deactivate it?

If you’re not using HBE and still getting the error, can you try this workaround from the PMPro author: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/your-reset-password-key-is-invalid-3/ and see if it helps?

Hope this helps, and let us know how it goes!

yes we enable Hide Backend feature.

What is the disadvantage if we disable Hide Backend feature.

@rm19 I see. If you turn OFF the HBE feature, does the error go away? If not, please still try the workaround from the PMPro thread.

There isn’t a disadvantage if you don’t use this feature because it is “security through obscurity”. You can read more about that here. Instead, you can use other security methods such as Two-Factor, Firewall, Strong Passwords, and CAPTCHA to protect your site.
