Use custom field to expire posts

Hi, thanks for a very useful plugin. I have a question about available options. Is it somehow possible to use a custom field value to set the expiry date for posts?
To give you a specific example, I am using Pods Framework on a website. One of the CPTs is an events tracker and the event posts should be downgraded to draft and “disappear” from the front end after they have taken place.
I believe this is one of the most basic use cases for the plugin but right now I have to set the expiry dates manually (the default e.g. +1 month helps but still requires manual updating).
In essence, it would be super useful to be able to have a “dynamic content” option for the expiry date esp. that Future already recognises my CPTs.
Assuming that what I am asking about is sufficiently clear, is it possible?
