Brevo integration with Contact 7

Hey, I did an integration between contact forms 7 and Brevo. But although I checked the box that every new newsletter register will receive a welcome email = double opt-in – it doesn’t send it! It’s a huge problem that puts me in legal exposure.
I contacted Brevo and this was the response:
“After checking with our tech team, it seems that the issue is caused by the Contact Form 7 Plugin. We haven’t observed any activity on our end, and it appears that you are using their interface instead of ours.
I recommend reaching out to their support team for assistance. “Please help! Thanks
