Picture on Location Marker
-
Am I able to add a picture to my location marker using the free version?
-
Hi @dadams76,
Sure, there is an image upload field available by default also in the free version.
Best regards,
DanielI looked everywhere and I couldn’t find the where to upload my image at. Can you tell me where I can find it?
If you add a new location (in the front end) by clicking the “+”-Button a the form for location details pops up. Right below the description field there is an “Image” icon. Click this.

If you don’t see the field please make sure you’ve enabled “Image” uploads under Settings > Open User Map > Form settings > “Media Upload” fields.
Best regards,
DanielI’m sorry I’m having so much trouble with this. The picture you provided, is not the same on my end. The version I have is Version 1.3.17. There is not a description field on the media uploads field I tried putting my images URL in the media uploads field, but nothing happened.
I don’t understand when you said (in the front end). Also, don’t understand “+” button.

Hi @dadams76,
No worries! I would recommend you to watch this video to learn the basic workflow of using Open User Map as an “Interactive Map”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v605z1FT2c&ab_channel=100plugins
Important Info: You need to have “Interactive Map” selected in the plugin settings:

Only with this setting enabled you will see the “+”-Button in the top right corner of your map. This enables anybody to add new locations to your map.
But in case you are using a “Simple Map” then adding new locations can only be done in the WordPress Dashboard under OUM Locations > Add Location:

To upload an image click on the “Upload Image” Button.
I hope this helps,
Best regards,
Danielthank you so much for your help. I got the picture on my location marker. Now I have another question, how do I remove the plus icon that is on the top right of the map on the front end? Refer to mt link.
Okay, cool. Now just select “Simple Map” in the settings and the blue “+”-button will be gone.

Best regards,
DanielThank you for all your help Daniel!
