Double quotes around csv field values

    I searched the forum but could not find a solution.

    1. My feed .csv file needs to have all field values surrounded by double quotes.

    All fields including numeric, so for example ID 2334 should be “2334”.

    Is there a solution for this?

    2) Also, if a field is empty is should be “” . Can I do this with your plugin?

    3) Can’t find an option to turn off the header row in the .csv file.

    Hi,

    Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. We are following the official CSV rules where only fields that require quotes are getting them. For example numeric fields do not require to be surrounded by quotes, nor do empty fields.

    So unfortunately our plugin cannot add quotes to all field values in your feed.

    Regarding “official CSV rules”, there is no rule to not have double quotes on a field. From the link you provided: “Any field may be quoted (that is, enclosed within double-quote characters), while some fields must be quoted, as specified in the following rules and examples: “1997”,”Ford”,”E350″”

    As you can see, the example shows a numerical field in double quotes. It should be an easy addition to the plugin. This was required by 2performant feed (2performant is a huge affiliate company)

    yes, but it is not mandatory and as such we are not adding it.

    It is not possible to remove the header row from CSV feeds with our plugin.

    Since it is not mandatory to not put quotes on everything, your answer makes no sense. Not the nicest attitude either. Of course you CAN add this feature.

    The same for the remove the header feature.

    Well… at least I know I cannot recommend your plugin, both for lack of features and for lack of support
