When I click the eye on Transition words: using readability I get a page loading error that says Fix “Aw, Snap!” page crashes and other page loading errors. I follow those instructions on that page ( Learn more) but I still get the same thing for Transition words. It does not work, just Aw Snap

If I use Passive Voice and click the eye, it works the sentences are highlighted.

    Hello @johnboyson

I’m sorry about your experience with the eye marker feature in the plugin.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

Thank you, I did all the above and I still have the same problem. Its just the Transition words and the eye that causes a problem, the Passive Voice and click the eye work correctly, it highlights the text Pink. The Transition does nothing but cause the Aw Snap page.

I have the trouble shoot plugin, i switched to 2022 theme, i disabled plugins and re enabled yours and it does the same fault.

The problem cannot happen while Yoast SEO (free or premium) is not active, as Yoast does not appear on my edit post pages.

The last time I had this problem was on 3 Mar 2020, I contacted you about it then. I was using the classic editor and that was the problem, I switched to Gutenberg blocks and it worked fine. I was a premium customer then, now using the free version.

It is strange that it only happens with Transition words, all the other eye highlights do not cause a problem. I click them and the text turns pink so i can edit it. I can get green lights on everything else. Just not Transition words. Its the same as it was 2 years ago, except that I am not using classic editor.

    • Transition words: Only 20.9% of the sentences contain transition words, which is not enough. Use more of them.

    Good results (5)

    • Passive voice: You’re using enough active voice. That’s great!
    • Consecutive sentences: There is enough variety in your sentences. That’s great!
    • Subheading distribution: Great job!
    • Paragraph length: None of the paragraphs are too long. Great job!
    • Sentence length: Great!
