Pasing code in WordPress Forum ignores line breaks

On the official WordPress Forum (this forum), when copy and pasting code all line breaks are ignored.

This is an absolute nightmare to fix. For the love of Christ please fix this issue.

This also seems to happen when pasting text generally in the comment using a paragraph block.
