Calculation Error when Resend eMail Notification is Used
-
Yesterday I had occasion to use the “RESEND NOTIFICATION EMAIL” button in the submissions page. I had to do this because I had an error in the tortuous conditional logic that Forminator forces in order to customize e-Mails based on variables (see also my suggestion for improvement send over 1 year ago in https://wordpress.org/support/topic/suggestion-for-improvement-for-form-submission-email-responses/ ). I presume that the re-transmission of submission e-Mail is based on information in the submission database. Even though the information in the form DID NOT change and the content of e-Mails also did not change, the new submission e-Mails sent by the “RESEND NOTIFICATION EMAIL” button were different from the original e-Mail sent when the form was submitted. Specifically, a calculated value based on a Radio Button field became zero rather than the correct amount and showed as 0 in the new e-Mail, additionally other calculated values based on the same amount were also incorrectly reduced. I guess the logic used to do these calculation is not common (why?) to both the mainline process and the resend function… that seems like a source of potential problems and duplicate effort in both development and testing. I cannot share the either e-Mails or forms in this forum as they contain personally identifying information about the submission but I can provide further information to aid in diagnosis via other non-public channels (e.g. email or links to my cloud storage)
