    Hello,

We are in discussion with the plugin support team from Smash Balloon, in particular their “Feeds for YouTube” feature.

They have debugged their plugin on our staging site and indicated a conflict with Easy FancyBox.

    Their response:
All of these issues seem to be tied to the “Easy FancyBox” plugin. We have temporarily disabled this plugin and we show all of the issues are resolved. If possible, can you contact the support team for that plugin to see if there is a way to disable their features on specific links?

    Question [1]:
Is there a way to disable the Easy FancyBox feature on specific links?

    FAQ Answer:
“Use the class nolightbox (or alternatively nofancybox) to exclude a specific media link.”

    Question [2]:
The Smash Balloon Support Team has tried adding both of these classes and neither stops the lightbox from opening up. Can you confirm if these [2] classes are still valid? It doesn’t seem like they are.

    Best regards.

  • Hi @rizq these classes are still valid. There must be another (third?) conflict playing a role here. Maybe there is another fancybox script included by your theme or another plugin?

Any way I can take a quick look at your staging site?

You can contact me via https://status301.net/contact/ or find my email in the plugin readme…

OK, I’ve been able to reproduce the conflict between the two plugins on my dev site. Do you know HOW the smashballoon devs added the nolightbox (or nofancybox) class? If it is done via the plugin script, then it arrives too late.

Normally, changing script order would solve that issue (with the Priority settings on Settings > Media in the Compatibility section). But it seems the smashballoon script is inserted below the wp_footer() call somehow, so there is no way to make the fancybox script load after the smashballoon script…

Any chance the smashballoon people could use the recommended wp_enqueue_script() (with footer flag) instead of hooking into wp_footer(), I guess?

In the meantime, the fastest way around this is to go to Settings > Media and find the field “Exclude” under Advanced in the Miscellaneous section. Then add ,.sby_video_thumbnail at the end there.

That should exclude all smashballlon video links.

Marking as resolved. Let me know if you’re still having issues.

I’ve sent your response(s) to Smash Balloon Support. I will let you know their response once I receive it. Thank you.

    Thanks πŸ™‚

Does the solution of adding ,.sby_video_thumbnail to the Exclude list solve the issue on your site? It did on my test setup but it may be different for you…

    Hello,

Smash Balloon has yet to respond to me about what you provided above. Again, when I receive their feedback I will relay it to you here.

    In the meantime …

I went in to check the settings you mentioned above and do NOT see the “Exclude” field under Settings > Media > Miscellaneous > Advanced (see attached Screenshot).

Which Easy FancyBox version are you using on your site? The option has been introduced fairly recently, in the latest version 1.8.19

It looks like we are using Version 1.8.18. So if I update the plugin to Version 1.8.19 I should see that new feature?

    Yes πŸ™‚

Great! I updated the plugin to Version 1.8.19, added the .sby… class to the exclude field and cleared the site cache and all seems to be working now.

I will confirm with Smash Balloon Support.

If anything else comes up I will create a new ticket. Thank you.
