Hi there @hlangas,
It sounds like you may have has a previous plugin installation or removal which didn’t complete. When this happens, what you can do is use FTP or your website hosting control panel to remove or rename the Site Kit directory (wp-content/plugins/google-site-kit).
An even easier and safer solution, if available, is to use the “Replace current with uploaded” feature. In order to do so, download the current Site Kit plugins latest version. After doing so, use the “Upload” button form your plugins tab to upload this. When uploading, you may notice the error once more. Look for a “Replace Current with Uploaded” button as per the below, and click on it to proceed.

Let me know how you get on with the above, or ask if you have any questions.
Thanks @jamesosborne
Will do so and update you.
Appreciate your help
No problem! Please do let me know how you get on!
Thank you @jamesosborne
Your advice did the trick. I am sorted now.
Once again, a million thanks.
Glad to hear it @hlangas!
If you run into any further errors be sure to reach out. As it sounds like you’ve also been a Site Kit user before, with an existing install present, be sure to leave a plugin review. We’d love to hear from you! Thank you.
