    Hi,

I’ve done a few cookie scans, and there’s no cookies showing for this plugin. I have selected “No” to all tracking in settings, does this therefore mean there is no cookies?

Or is there only cookies if you use the star rating, regardless of the tracking setting? If so how do I get these to show in a cookie scanner?

    Thanks

    Hi oriver,

The plugin uses cookies to prevent repetitive votes. When a user rates a post, it places a cookie in the browser to prevent rating that post again. I’m not familiar with cookie scanner so that’s something you should probably ask in their support forum.

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I’m not talking about specific cookie scanners, but as a whole with there being a few online and with plugins – these allow you to scan your website to make sure they are inline with GDPR, and your cookie notice. However no cookies are showing for ‘Rate My Post’

If on the Rate My Post plugin settings you have “tracking IP addresses” and selected “No” does this mean there are no cookies placed on a users browser even if they rate a post?

    Thanks

    Hi @oriver,

If the visitor rates a post, the cookie is placed anyway so that this visitor can’t rate the post again. IP address tracking has nothing to do with cookies.
