I get this error when I click “Finish Setup” for WooCommerce Payments

“There was a problem connecting this site to WordPress.com: “Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.””

Similarly, on the plugins page, there is a banner inviting me to “Connect Jetpack to activate WooCommerce Shipping & Tax” with a “Connect Button”

Clicking the “Connect” Button redirects to the Jetpack Setup page with another error banner

“Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.”

Clicking the “Setup Jetpack” button on the Jetpack setup page yields an error below the button.

“An error occurred. Please try again.”

It’s known that although WooCommerce Payments doesn’t require Jetpack to use, it does require Jetpack to setup WooCommerce Payments. These 3 errors then seem tied to Jetpack.

This page on my website appears intact

    https://www.robertsalazar.design/xmlrpc.php

The Jetpack Debug page also gives an unknown error when checking my website.

My Jetpack plugin had been working fine until I updated it and a number of WooCommerce plugins. I’ve deactivated Jetpack, deleted it, and reinstalled it a few times, to no change. I’ve also deactivated my WooCommerce plugins to see if Jetpack could be finally setup, but with no success either. I’ve also deactivated Jetpack, installed the “jetpack-addons-add-jp-rm-options” plugin (this plugin never appears in the list of plugins after it’s been installed and activated), reactivated Jetpack and no change again.

What might be preventing Jetpack from setting up?

  • Strangely enough, from our side, we’re seeing only errors that are typically fixed just by reconnecting Jetpack, with no other clues.

I know you’ve reinstalled before, but would you be able to try the following exact steps for me?

    1. From the wp-admin dashboard of your site, please go to Jetpack > Dashboard > Connections > “Manage site connection” from your left-hand menu.

    2. Click the “Disconnect” button. If it’s already disconnected, you can skip to the next step.

    3. Deactivate your Jetpack plugin by heading to Plugins > Installed Plugins and finding “Jetpack by WordPress.com.”

    4. Completely uninstall Jetpack.

    5. Deactivate all of you plugins.

    6. Reinstall the newest version of Jetpack.

    7. Activate Jetpack.

    8. In Jetpack > Dashboard > Connections > “Manage site connection,” Click the “Set up Jetpack” button and continue through the approval process.

    9. Reactivate all of your plugins.

Please let us know the results of this troubleshooting and we can go from there. Thanks!
