I’m trying to figure out how to get WooCommerce to use the primary user email address for order communication via email. Right now it defaults to the billing email address which is often not the same as the person that placed the order. In my environment, the ordering person (wordpress user email) needs to know that the order was received, is being processed, and has tracking information. The accounting dept (billing email) is synced to Quickbooks Online for billing purposes. I’ve found a few functions online however none seem to do the trick.

  • Hello,

I’m trying to figure out how to get WooCommerce to use the primary user email address for order communication via email.

By default, when a user logs in to place an order, the user address should match the billing email address. Are you using a plugin which overrides that behavior?

To get a better understanding, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.  Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

We’ve not heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. Hopefully, you were able to find a solution to your problem! If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.

I’m sorry, I did not get a notice on the first posting. I’m still looking for a solution. Is there a way to privately share that report? I’d rather not have all of that data in a public environment.

    Hi @tismikehoncho,

No worries and thank you for getting back to us.

This is a public forum and if you’re concerned about security or privacy, feel free to change/remove your site URL in the report.

You can use https://pastebin.com/ to share your system status with us and set an expiration so that the file is removed once the expiration date is reached.

    Cheers.
