I downloaded Jetpack with the search feature and would like to use it for global search and for a page-specific search. Is this possible?

Our page “Technical papers” has a search bar but whenever I change the filters on the jetpack search plugin then it changes all the search bars, including the global one on the home page.

Is there a way to have the global page to search for anything available, and the technical paper search bar to look up only in the media library?

If it would be easier to get on a call to explain, let me know!

    Thanks,
    Jorge

  • Hello there, Jorge!

Since Jetpack Search completely replaces your default WordPress search and samples all of the results globally, there is no current way to customize the search function for just one page or content type without effecting the global settings.

    Hi Jorge

I just got some clarification on this from our developers.

While you can’t add a separate search bar for a page-specific search, you could in theory add a custom search button/link that has specific filters applied:

    Hope that helps!
