We created some maps on about 6-7 pages, and upon revisiting a few weeks later discovered the plugin had deactivated on its own.
When I reactivated the plugin our database of maps in the dashboard is gone.

Is it possible the database/ table in WordPress still has the information if we could reconnect it with the plugin?

Spend quite a bit of time connecting to the google maps API and building out maps. Trying to avoid re-doing the work.
Any help or explanation how the plugin could just deactivate on its own would be appreciated

  • Hi @chrisgriffiths,

Thank you so much for getting in touch, we really appreciate your time.

Unfortunately, WP Google Maps doesn’t have the ability to auto deactivate which means that there might have been an issue during an update as an example where the plugin was being updated, however, connection may have been lost and so the update did not complete.

WordPress usually deactivates any corrupt plugins as a result of a failed update automatically to allow the website to remain functional instead of crashing.

WP Google Maps also does not contain the core code to automatically delete any marker data from the database directly and instead will require user input to do so, however, this data may still remain in the database and reactivating WP Google Maps should allow this data to load once more.

Failing this, might I kindly ask you to perhaps get in touch with us directly via our website so we could perhaps discuss a few options?

    Kindest Regards,
    Steven De Beer
