I am using Elementor. I have created the CPT “video” with CPTUI.

Next I created an archive page template and added a Posts widget to the template.

When CPTUI is deactivated, the query in the Posts widgets allows me to select which posts to show by (1) Author, (2) Categories and (3) Tags.

However, when CPTUI is activated, I can only select by Author. The disappearance of Categories and Tags does not only apply to the CPT video, but also to the native post post type.

    See the screenshots here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/11v7gie654etu10/CPTUI%20seemingly%20breaking%20the%20Posts%20widget%20in%20Elementor.pdf?dl=0

The problem does not seem to be that Categories are not recognized by CPTUI as I get my video posts to display the category attached to them (even in the archive). It is only the query parameter that is missing.

Any idea how to correct this?

Can you visit the Tools menu item in the CPTUI section and then on the “Post Types” tab, paste me the contents on the right hand side and in that textarea? I can give the settings a quick lookover to see if anything stands out.

Other than that, I’m honestly not sure what may be going on here, and Elementor support may be a better option there. I’ll definitely do what I can first though.

Hmm, definitely nothing standing out. Have you started a support request with Elementor yet? That’d be my next step here to see what they say.

Yes, I did (https://forum.elementor.com/fixing-common-issues-33/custom-post-query-not-showing-1914?postid=30448#post30448). I also found that others had related if not similar problems with the query in the Posts widget. I will let you know if I get an answer.

Interesting that others have experienced the same.

Sounds good on letting us know. Thanks.
