    Hi,

    for about a month I am getting the communication emails “undeliverable emails” to a wrong email address. I have to different wordpress sites, gitarrenschule.it and natürlich-glücklich.com. I am only using the Email subscribers Plugin on “Natürlich glücklich” and I am sending the emails from there, when a new blogpost is getting online. But for about a month, maybe more, I am getting the emails when someone used for example a wrong email address to subscribe not on my email address info@natürlich-glücklich.com but on my friends address info@gitarrenschule.it. I have checked all the setting in the plugin but can’t figure it out. Maybe you can help? Thank you very much and happy first Advent Sunday

    Hi there,

    We have checked the issue on your site by subscribing through the plugin’s form.

    It looks like info@gitarrenschule.it is being set as a Return-path email header. The plugin sets the Return-path same as the From email. In your case it should be info@natürlich-glücklich.com but sometimes other plugins or theme can modify it. Example screenshot here.

    Can you please check for the issue with only the Email Subscribers plugin active? To assists you in the debugging, you can also install and activate Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin which will deactivate plugins only for you without affecting other site users.

    After deactivating other plugins, please send some test emails to your email address and check what is the Return-Path header in the received email? If you are using Gmail for receiving test emails, then this article may be useful in how to check the email headers.

    I did all the tests: I activated the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin and installed a default wordpress theme. Then I just activated the Newsletter and Subscriber Plugin only and sent the test-emails. In the header is still the wrong email address, see here (Link). I would be grateful if you could help me! Thank you so much!

    The issue seems to be a bit strange. We have tried to replicate it in our testing but, somehow it is not getting replicated.
