Security 2.7.4 prevents editing with Elementor
-
I tried editing a page in Elementor this evening, but it would not load, either in regular or safe mode. So I began checking which plugins were updated most recently, and deactivated each that had been updated during the past day. After each deactivation, I attempted to edit a test web page. Nothing worked until I deactivated Security by CleanTalk v. 2.7.4.
Please cure this problem.

Hello,
We have fixed the problem. All the changes will be included in the next stable release.
Go to WordPress Administrator Panel —> Plugins.
Find the plugin “Security & Malware scan by CleanTalk” —> Deactivate.
After the automatic page refresh find the plugin again “Security & Malware scan by CleanTalk” —> Delete. Confirm “Yes, delete these files”.
Download the plugin archive from here: https://github.com/CleanTalk/security-malware-firewall/releases/download/fix-version/security-malware-firewall.zip
Go to Plugins —> Add New —> Upload Plugin.
Choose the downloaded archive and press “Install Now”.
Contact us if you have any questions.I arrived here after a Google search. I am a new user and purchased the plugin to find it produces this same problem with the latest Elementor Header & Footer Builder 1.6.4
Your fix did indeed work. It installed Security by CleanTalk Ver 2.7 but now the plugin wants to update back to the version 2.74 which was causing the problem.

Hello @tryminenow
This is the correct version. There is a wrong version number on plugin files. We will fix it in 24 hours. Then you can download the archive again and reinstall the plugin.I have looked at the Github file and after nearly 4 days it still says
2.74

Hello @tryminenow
The new release date is Nov 8.
Right now, the DEV version should help:
1. Go to WordPress Administrator Panel —> Plugins.
2. Find the plugin “Security & Malware scan by CleanTalk” —> Deactivate.
3. After the automatic page refresh find the plugin again “Security & Malware scan by CleanTalk” —> Delete. Confirm “Yes, delete these files”.
4. Download the plugin archive from here: https://github.com/CleanTalk/security-malware-firewall/releases/download/dev-version/security-malware-firewall.zip
5. Go to Plugins —> Add New —> Upload Plugin.
6. Choose the downloaded archive and press “Install Now”.Thanks Alexander
Nov 8 is close enough. I can still use the older version until then. It works.
Have a great week!
@tryminenow Probably we need to do some more tests with the current dev version. It will be helpful if you could try to install this version and tell us if this helps or not.
If not, do not worry, we will find another way.
So is this new version ready for release? I share another persons problem regarding attacks on my contact form this last week. Never had so many SPAM messages in the past. Will this new version fix it?
Hello @tryminenow
The new version of the Security plugin will be released on November 8th.
