Default Expiration Category not working
-
The “Default Expiration Category” on the “General Settings” tab is actually not doing anything. Unless I misunderstand how the setting works, whatever category(ies) you pick in that box, once you get in the “Post Types” tab, you cannot “Inherit from General Settings” as you can for the “Default Date/Time Duration”, for example.
To my understanding, this “Default Expiration Category” setting might have been implemented a long time ago, but is now unusable. The expected behavior from that setting would probably be that it automatically use the “Category: Replace” feature for all new posts and puts the selected “Default Expiration Category” instead.
Is there a work around for this? I would like all my posts to automatically expire after 30 days (that part I know how) and go in a specific category, without having to manually pick the category for the posts (so my authors do not need to think about it).
Thank you!
