I contacted the theme support and they basically said the same as you did. all good on their side. although other users under the same topic experienced the same thing I did. It look like a regional Facebook issue in some counries. Is it possible?
Possibly, but that is impossible for us to tell. I would recommend that you for now look at the OG:image field to see if there is a value; that should indicate to you whether there is an image social networks can display.
