I think I may have found a bug that’s causing some of the ‘posts not expiring’ issues I’ve seen asked a few times here. For me, if I enable post expiration while I only have one block on my post, the cron job does not get scheduled properly and it shows no errors in the debug log. However, if I add another block and disable and then reenable post expiration, it schedules the task properly. Hopefully this helps! 🙂

Thanks @jlongbrake. In your testing, this seems to be a Gutenberg issue?

I am seeing some situations that are solved by enabling Post Expiration a second time.

Can you test this pre-release version and see if it helps, please?

Yes, I was having this issue with Gutenberg blocks. I was having this issue on one server, but not my dev server for some reason. I even tried to make sure the environments were the same, but can’t figure out what’s different.

It seems that sometimes enabling a second time would correct the issue, or adding another Gutenberg block would also fix it sometimes.

I tried your pre-release version and it seems to have fixed whatever issue I was having. Thanks! 🙂

    Great, thanks @jlongbrake

That new version should be released this week.
