After updating stories, alert pops up – “Failed to save the story”

    @byjillee Hello! Sorry to hear you are having issues with save stories and we will be happy to check on this for you. Can you please check for any browser console errors where you see this failed to save error and share those details?

    Could you please share your Site Health information privately here again too and we can use that to check for any conflicting plugins/ setup?

    If the saving actually works but you still get the pop-up, this definitely sounds like a plugin conflict or server configuration issue. There could be some error in the returned HTTP response that prevents the editor from parsing the returned JSON data, hence causing the pop-up.

    So in addition to checking for console errors, looking at the actual response in the dev tools Network tab is a good idea.

    As for ruling out plugin conflicts, you could also try troubleshooting with the Health Check plugin. This is like disabling all other plugins, but only for you, not for visitors (so nothing will break).
