Hi, I just followed the steps to enable tracking of the User-ID in my Google Analytics account.

Now how do I add this modified tracking code to my WordPress site that uses the Google Site Kit plugin?

  • Hello @sangroxx ,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Currently Site Kit doesn’t provide option to customize the snippet. You can add the Analytics snippet manually as per your requirements. Site Kit recognizes the already added snippet. You just need to configure the Analytics module from Site Kit to display the stats in the Analytics Dashboard.

Oh, and to add to that, can I segment these users as per their User Roles? Like – Author, Editor.

I have custom user roles on my website.

If you are looking to alter the behavior or tracking of other roles it’s not something Site Kit supports at present.

    Hello @abdullahramzan

Thank you so much for your quick reply, so to understand that correctly –
I cannot track user IDs right now? (via Site Kit)
    OR
Site Kite updates the tracking code on my site whenever I make changes in the analytics dashboard, therefore enabling the User-ID tracking?

I cannot track user IDs right now? (via Site Kit)

Yes right now there is no feature available yet in the Analytics dashboard regarding User-ID tracking. You can submit a feature request on Site Kit repo. If you want me to do that I’d love to submit for you & will update the team accordingly.

    Best Regards,

    Hello @sangroxx ,

I have just created a feature request on GitHub Site Kit repo for you. Feel free to add the information where required.

    Happy Monday!

    Thanks & Regards,

@sangroxx I’ve discussed this further with our engineering team, and unfortunately this feature doesn’t align with our roadmap for the Site Kit plugin at this time, as it would have a significant impact on plugin performance. I’m closing out the GitHub issue and this topic for now, but if you have any other suggestions or questions about the Site Kit plugin, please always feel free to get in touch.
