I have a gallery with >50 photos and the drag and drop sorting seems only to work within a page of 20 images at a time. The only way to do a major move from one part of the gallery to the other is by renumbering the images, which is not easy with a large gallery. This makes it hard to tweak the sorting to look good in thumbnail versions, or to add new photos that need to move to the middle of the gallery, etc. I feel like I must be missing something. Is there a way to view images as a grid to rearrange them, rather than a list with details?

  • Dear @patricel50,
    Thank you for the inquiry.

You can drag the images to rearrange the sorting or use the drop-down sorting:https://nimb.ws/eAz3Jw.

To see all the images within one page, please edit the screen options: https://nimb.ws/k5nXUa

    Hope this helps with sorting.

Thanks for your reply, Asya. I had tried your suggestion and couldn’t make it work. Darag and Drop works fine within a page, but I can’t get more than 20 images to show on one page. I choose “Screen Options”, then increase the value for Pagination. It hangs for a second as it seems to be processing the request, but then I scroll down and there are still only 20 images per page. I’m using Windows and Firefox 88.0.1, 64-bit (I have the latest update). I’ve tried rebooting, but it won’t help. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

A follow up–I just downloaded Chrome and tried on that browser and the same problem occurs. I can’t get more than 20 images per page to show.

    Dear @patricel50,
    Thank you for your response.

Do you see any errors in the console when saving changes in “Screen Options”?

Please install Health Check & Troubleshooting and see if any of your plugins or theme affects the work of the gallery.

Let us know about the results.

    Sincerely,
