Where do I go to find out what caused the message and to correct so I may successfully execute SEO Checkup?

    Hi @lars2923

Sorry to hear you are having this issue.

This means the API couldn’t check the website,

    Could you please make sure:

    – The website is not protected, for example, Auth Password protected or maintenance

    – The WPMU DEV IPs are not blocked in any security plugin or server firewall:
    https://wpmudev.com/docs/getting-started/wpmu-dev-ip-addresses/

Can you go to WordPress > Tools > Site Health and check if there is any reported problem, some cURLs issue can prevent this function too.

Let us know the result you got.

I have Checkup working after shutting down a couple of plugins.
At this point I am attempting to let Smartcrawl generate a sitemap.xml file
I am told the sitemap screeen that my sitemap is /sitemap.xml yet the root directory does not contain this sitemap.xml file.

I can go to https://domain/sitemap.xml and see my webpage displayed.

I issue a find command (unix) to locate a sitemap.xml and I get no file/path returned from the find command.

    Please advise.

    Hi @lars2923,

Sitemap file is located in /wp-content/uploads/smartcrawl/sitemap/ folder, can you check and see if you can find it there?

I have Checkup working after shutting down a couple of plugins.

Do you know which specific plugin caused the issue? We would like to debug it further from our end to see if we can prevent this from happening in future.

    Cheers,
    Predrag

    The Plugin was Wordfense Security

Sitemap file is located in /wp-content/uploads/smartcrawl/sitemap/ folder
    That folder is EMPTY
    ~/wp-content/uploads/smartcrawl/sitemap$ ls -l

    Hi @lars2923,

It’s possible Wordfence plugin had a firewall setup to restrict API request to run when the SEO checkup ran. As far as location of sitemap, please try to resave permalinks and clear all cache.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi @lars2923

It is under WordPress > Settings > Permalinks

Just click on the save button.

For caching flush it depends on your caching plugin or hosting caching, but usually is located in the plugin dashboard.
