    Hello,

After recent updates I am unable to add a new post with the Yoast plugin active. I keep receiving the error upon attempt “The editor has encountered an unexpected error.” If I disable the plugin it works fine. Any suggestions?

    Hi,

We are sorry that you are unable to add a new post due to that error. To troubleshoot further, while you’re on the screen, can you please check if there are Javascript errors on your browser’s console? You may follow the steps here: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/

If you are running Yoast SEO 16.1.1 and WordPress 15.7, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Nineteen. Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one.

If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check without affecting normal visitors to your site.As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts.%snippet:;fpremmayhelp%
