Constant Contact integration fails
-
Constant Contact integration worked fine up until 2/1/2021, then it stopped working. All the data appears in the Contact Form CFDB7 database, but it never gets to Constant Contact.

By the way, CF7 Google Sheet integration stopped working at the same time.
What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?
Graphene theme

Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.
Won’t switching themes and turning off all my plugins destroy my site? When I switch back, won’t I have lost a lot of theme and plug-in specific features?
I want to troubleshoot the problem, but, “first, burn down the barn”, doesn’t seem safe.
Don’t get me wrong. I really do appreciate your help. You have an excellent product which has served me well for many years. I was pleased when you added Constant Contact integration. I had been using three different contact form plugins before that.
I need to proceed carefully. My organization depends on our Web site for a lot of other functions in addition to gathering addresses. We can not afford extended down time. If I had a staging platform, I would certainly follow your procedure to the letter.
I am going to try a little lighter touch as a first pass. I’m going to review the record to see which plugins were updated around the time of the failure, and disable them first. Maybe I will get lucky. If I learn anything interesting, I will let you know.
My hosting service has provided instructions on how I can use a secondary domain to construct a test version of my Web site. I should be able to conduct the experiment you have proposed.
One additional data point which might be meaningful: I receive an email update when someone uses the subscription form. Lately, I have been receiving three copies of each submission.

It’s actually temporary and generally understood to be a way to find a conflict.
In that article the author posted it has this at the bottom.
Many experienced webmasters, in anticipation of such cases, prepare a staging environment on which you can test changes without effecting the live production environment. Or you may want to try a plugin called Health Check & Troubleshooting. This plugin allows you to make changes to a site in such a way that the changes are only visible to you as the logged-in administrator.
If you install that plugin, log into your installation, then you can use that plugin to do what the author suggests without your visitors seeing any change.

RankMath has a good write up on how to do that.
My hosting service has helped me set up a staging environment. I do not have it working quite right, yet, but it looks like I will be able to get it working. Once I have done that, I will better be able to diagnose the problem.
This is going to take a while. Meanwhile, I am hoping someone may recognize the problem and suggest a fix. Otherwise, I press on.
Thanks for the “health Check & Troubleshooting” suggestion. That might be easier than what I am trying to do.
OK, I did it. I switched to Theme Twenty Twenty, and disabled all plugins except CF7 and ReCaptcha v2 for Contact Form 7. I do get a verification email, but no changes get applied to Constant Contact.
I will try again without ReCaptcha v2 for Contact Form 7.
When I disable ReCaptcha v2 for Contact Form 7, I get an error message:
“There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”
This time, I do not get the confirmation email, either.
This is as stripped down as I can get the Web site, and the problem does not go away. I have no idea what to do, now.
The Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin just about ruined my Web site. I ended up with all the plugins disabled, and not restorable via the Disable Troubleshooting button. I had to go through and re-activate them each by hand. Several of my sidebar widgets disappeared, and some others moved to the other side.
Some of my posts lost their images and featured images, which I had to repair by hand. I am still not sure I have caught all the damage because there is just too much territory to cover.
All this, and I am no closer to figuring out what is wrong.
I have finally gotten a test environment set up at test.sccdp.org. It has a fresh copy of WordPress, default theme ( Twenty Twenty One ), and one plug in, Contact Form 7. I created one contact form, and turned on Constant Contact integration. Guess what? I get the emails at my admin email, but nothing shows up in Constant Contact.
So, no plug in conflicts, no results.
I did everything you asked. Clean WordPress, default theme, exactly one plug in, new Constant Contact API credentials. Still, connection to Constant Contact does not work. New email addresses not added. URL is test.sccdp.org.
What, now?
This is really disappointing. I’m asking for help. I’ve followed all the instructions. I still have trouble. Please.
