I just installed a fresh copy of WP Google Maps and when I go to Maps in the back end, there is no way to add a new map! I tried deactivating all other plugins, but that didn’t help. I’m on WordPress 5.6.1 and the latest version of WP Google Maps. Thank you!

  • Same here. Did you get a solution? I see no console errors. Have tried deleting plugin content, still no change.

    Hi James,

I’ve resolved the problem, but am not sure it’s the same issue as yours.

I’d tried a migration using WP Migrate DB Pro, which failed stating it failed on the WP Google Maps tables. So I did another migration and excluded those tables.

I also tried several times deleting the WP Google Maps plugin and reinstalling it, but that didn’t help. It also didn’t help to use PHPMyAdmin to delete those tables (which start with wp_wpgmza).

I finally succeeded after I deleted references in the wp_options table of the database. I didn’t keep a record of exactly what I deleted, but it was clear to me those rows related to WP Google Maps.

I hope that helps guide you to a solution!

Thanks Rory. I’ve downgraded the plugin to an earlier version and that still works. Thanks for those insights. Looks like a problem with latest version.
