I updated my plug-in and WHAMMO! Now my site is offline with a “critical error.” Checking through the activity log, the problem seems to have been with the UpDraft Plus backup plug-in.

    Help and suggestions??

    Hi @daleguffey

If you don’t have access to your admin panel, try manually resetting your plugins (no dashboard access required).

    FAQ Troubleshooting

If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Seventeen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue. If you don’t have access to your Dashboard, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

If neither of those things work, or if you don’t know your FTP information, I’d recommend reaching out to your host (Dreamhost) as they would likely be able to assist you with this.

Let us know if you have any questions on this!

    Best,
