All links to (regular) pages broken
-
I upgraded my working WP 2.8.6 install to WP 2.9.1 and now I cannot view my (regular) pages (post pages are fine). I thought it curious that no updating of the database occurred during the upgrade (it normally tells you this … it didn’t this time), but didn’t linger on it.
So now –
1 – I can create a new page (and the permalink on the write panel looks fine). But when I try to view this page, it gives me a not-found error.
2 – Same thing with old pages: I get a not-found error when I try to view them.
After (belatedly) reading http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress, I suspect my predicament may have been caused by migrating an existing site/database into an install via an auto-installer (Fantastico). And true, the database still had http://www.olddomain.com in so I used a text editor to replace ‘www.olddomain.com’ to ‘www.newdomain.com’, saved and uploaded it and then edited the wp-config.php to point to this database.
But still no go ….
Anyone who survived a similar experience?
