    Website: https://skistyle.uk/
    WP 5.5 running Twentytwenty
    Basic options panel: https://snipboard.io/4TDuaQ.jpg
    The page content: https://snipboard.io/5sh1QZ.jpg

Plugin is authorised with Google and the app can navigate the drive contents.

Using Classic Editor I click on the Google Drive gallery button and nothing happens. If I change the root gallery to a folder that has sub folders I can see those folders but when I select a folder and then click the button, again, nothing happens.

However, if I deactivate the Classic editor I can insert the gallery block and I can see the images on Google drive. In short, the plugin does not work on classic editor as per the plugin documentation.

    Your help is appreciated.

    Hi,
thanks for the report, will take a look.

Anyway, as a general recommendation, do switch to Gutenberg/block editor. We will remove support for the classic editor eventually and I suppose many plugins/themes will or already have dropped it.

I normally use the Divi theme from Elegant for all my websites. It’s the most used commercial WP theme with a Million installations.

Divi has its own block editing system. I switched to Twentytwenty to help diagnosing the issue.

Isn’t there a shortcode that I can insert on the page instead of using the button?

    Yes, there is 🙂

The shortcode works perfectly even with the Divi theme. There must be some JS conflict that is causing the button to fail.

I urge you to add the shortcode information to the documentation. Solely relying on JS dependant button on WP is not a good idea in my humble opinion.

    Thank you for the support.

    Hi,
I finally got to investigating this… However, it works fine for me.

I’m using the “Classic Editor” plugin… Can you verify you’re using the same, you have latest WP and the latest plugin and the issue is still present please?

    Thanks,
    Marek

I’m not using the Classic Editor. I’m using the “use classic editor” option of the Divi theme. The button opens a dialog box and allows me to browse through the disk, however does not insert the short code to the page. Here is the error from the Chrome inspector.

5tinymce.min.js:1 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘insertContent’ of null
    at HTMLAnchorElement.<anonymous> (tinymce.min.js:1)
    at HTMLAnchorElement.dispatch (jquery.js:3)
    at HTMLAnchorElement.r.handle (jquery.js:3)

    Hi,
I’d take that up with the developers of Divi – we support the classic editor as provided by the core WordPress team. If they are messing with it and breaking other plugins, that’s a problem caused by them and thus should be solved by them.

However, I still recommend using the block editor as the best option – any other way of using this plugin is basically on “life support” and I suspect that would be the case for most plugins nowadays.

    Thanks,
    Marek
