Anonymized IPs for Jetpack Stats?

When will Jetpack Stats get the option to use anonymized IPs on self-hosted WordPress sites?

The European Court of Justice recently overrided the EU-US Data Protection Shield agreeement (https://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs/application/pdf/2020-07/cp200091en.pdf) and data protection organisations question the future of EU citizens personalized data storage on US servers in general.

This goes beyond current the GDPR restrictions. To be on the safe side WordPress should give the option to use anonymized IPs for Stats or maybe consider simplifed statistics that track everything just on the local wordpress site and not via wordpress.com
